We started as a ski club, but we became A Club For All Seasons! We conduct about 350 events a year, including 30+ ski trips to Eastern, Western and International sites. We have a strong 'Learn to Ski' feature in our Eastern Ski program - go on the trip, get free ski lessons. We conduct other sports, cultural and social activities all year - including tennis, volleyball, hiking, biking, and sailing, for participants or spectators. We organize theatre and festival-going groups. Our social program includes happy hours, movie attendance, dinners and more. We have two special interest groups, Twenties & Thirties (TNT), and a Family group welcoming children. We are trying to start a Mountaineering program. We can be this active because our club membership is about 2,000 of all age groups and from all walks of life. What would you like to do?

We welcome guests and potential new members. You can attend and enjoy one or many events, with no pressure to join, paying a slightly higher price. Some events are not open to guests until a certain time before the event, as explained in the event writeup. If you would like membership information and application, click on Join the Club. Or email us at scwdc@verizon.net. We will either call, e-mail, or send you a membership package by mail. You may also call our office at (703)532-7776. Our membership year runs May 1 to April 30, and now is the time to join for the coming year!

Membership Meetings
From September through April, we meet monthly at the Tyson's Corner Westpark Hotel, 8401 Westpark Dr, McLean, mostly on Tuesday nights. Formal meetings are held in September & November on Saturdays. Informal meetings are held in other months in the Wiseacres Lounge of the Westpark on the first Tuesday of the month.

Our next big meeting will be Saturday, September 20 when we roll out our ski trips for 2008-2009.

We highlight near-term activities in our Hot News. Look at it for changes and updates to any of our activities.

FYI, the Ski Club of Washington DC is a non-profit corporation run by many volunteers with a small paid staff to answer questions, administer member records and perform accounting. Our prices are set to recover our costs, with a goal to "break-even" over our activity year. Why belong to SCWDC? In the commercial marketplace, you can buy a ticket to many of the events we sponsor. So the reason for choosing the SCWDC event is to enjoy the event with friends and new acquaintences, with our leaders doing all of the advance planning and solving any unexpected problems along the way. Sign up for one of our events!
