About our Tennis Program

The Largest Social Tennis Program in Washington Metro Area

We offer the largest non-commercial tennis program in the Metro area.  Indoor events or "parties" are almost year-around, while Outdoor events are played spring through fall.

Indoor Tennis "parties" are conducted nearly every Saturday night at tennis clubs in Virginia and Maryland from September to June. These are social events including a light buffet and drinks. Non-member "guests" as well as members are welcome with or without advance reservations, although these are highly recommended. Attendance per event is usually around 60 to 80 players, evenly divided between men and women in the 30-60s age range.  Playing ability ranges from advanced beginner, able serve and keep the ball in play, to advanced player.  Select Tennis Parties from the menu for more information.

Outdoor Tennis is played throughout the spring, summer and fall at various locations and days of the week:

  • Tuesdays: "drop-in" and play events are held at Wakefield Park, Annandale, VA.
  • Wednesdays: we play at Washington's Hains Point in East Potomac Park
  • Sunday:  afternoon events are played at Wakefield Park, Annandate, VA

Tennis Getaways in the form of weekend trips are offered in the spring and fall to Hilton Head, SC, Wintergreen Resort (Tennis Academy), near Charolottesville, VA and Sea Colony Tennis Resort, Bethany Beach, DE. Other destinations of longer duration may also be scheduled based on expressed interest.

Sunday Instructional Tennis is a program for members to receive instruction from a tennis professional and play for two hours in the same social tennis group every two weeks on Sundays at Fairfax Racquet Club, Fairfax, VA.  Members are welcome to put together their own foursome of players, or apply as a single player to join a group.
