SCWDC offers a variety of Tennis Getaway trips between April and October.
In 2009, we visited Hilton Head Island, South Carolina for a week in April, Wintergreen Resort near Charlottesville, Virginia for a weekend in May, and the Pine Island Racquet Club near Duck, North Carolina, in October. The Hilton Head and Wintergreen trips were offered in 2010. We're beginning to plan the 2011 program, check back for more information later.
All of these trips include instruction, although the Wintergreen trip offers the most, 9 hours of instruction and play over Thursday to Sunday. All of the trips are geared towards those who already play tennis at the intermediate or advanced level. Trip size varies between 16-24.
Consider these in your vacation plans, ask questions, join the trip that suits your budget and fitness level.
Another opportunity for lessons is playing in the Sunday Instructional Tennis (Program), which is held on Sunday, in groups that play every other week at Fairfax Racquet Club. Look that up in its category, Sunday Instructional Tennis.
