Potomac Heritage Trail & Roosevelt Island – Washington, DC
Date and Time: Saturday, August 25th from 10 AM – 12 PM (Noon-ish)
Leader: Amelia Lancellotti
Distance and Difficulty: 5 miles, Easy
Directions: Roosevelt Island parking area is accessible directly from the NORTH bound lanes of the GW Parkway just north of the Roosevelt Bridge. If coming from the north, the park service directions say to take the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge to Constitution Ave., take the 2nd right onto 23rd St. and cross the Memorial Bridge. Once on the bridge, bear right and return to the GW Parkway in a northbound direction until you see the entrance to the park. Or if you are familiar with it, you could exit at Rosslyn and get back on the parkway, or drive further south on the parkway and take the Reagan airport exit and return back via the Parkway north. Meet in the parking lot by the footbridge.
Information: We will the hike around Roosevelt Island, but continue the hike on the Potomac Heritage Trail from there.
