Monday Night Volleyball

We offer both Indoor (spring, fall and winter months) or Outdoor (summer) activities, with two levels of play (advanced and beginner/intermediate) to accommodate those interested in a relaxed social game as well as the "animals" looking for competitive action. Beginners and newcomers always welcome but must demonstrate skills commensurate with that of other players. Meet afterward for refreshments. No reservations required. We meet every Monday night throughout the year at one of the following two locations:

Indoors: September - May (except Labor Day, Xmas Eve 2012 and New Years Eve 2012, and any Memorial Day). 
In September through May, we switch to indoors play at the Jelleff's Recreation Center.

Cost: $5 Members, Guests add $3.  If you play more than 15 times during the fall/winter season, it makes sense to join the club.

Apres' Volleyball:  Optional beer and pizza afterward at a nearby restaurant, it's been changing, so ask one of the managers where it is that week.   

Outdoors: June - August (NOT ACTIVE NOW)
We play at the "Sand Courts" near the Lincoln Memorial from 6PM - sunset

Directions:  (1) For those using transit, Foggy Bottom is the closest Metro stop. It’s about a half mile walk, so it takes about ten minutes for most people.  
                   (2) For those who drive, parking is a challenge, but there is some parking available right next to the courts. Driving direcions: Take 23rd Street, NW South-bound (toward the Lincoln Memorial). Get on the traffic circle at the Memorial in the right lane. Just before the approach to the Memorial Bridge, take the last right exit. Parking is available on both sides of the street; however watch out for the “permit” zones. They ticket there. If all parking is full (which is often the case after 6:00 p.m.), try the metered area on lower 23rd St. after 6:30 p.m.

Summer apres' volleyball: Optional beer and pizza afterward at Froggy Bottom Pub, 2142 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, between 21st and 22nd Streets.
