Join us for our regular monthly Membership get-together --- meet your SCWDC friends, hear about the latest SCWDC news and events, meet your trip leaders.

The Evening's Schedule:
6:00 to 7:00 PM - Happy Hour and Dinner at Veranda Café in the Hotel.  For this meeting, hors d'oeuvres and light snacks will be provided in addition to the option to order dinner.
7:00 to 7:15 - Short meeting. We will be announcing our Western/International Ski Trips Schedule for next winter.

New Tennis Racquet and String Technology

Willi's will be bringing a surplus of products including 2012 racquets, string, shoes, apparel, balls and accessories.  Items for sale at discounted coupons, etc.  We also plan on raffling on a new Wilson tennis racquet, strings and shoes.

Willi's Ski, Board and Tennis Shop is now located at Fairfax Circle, 9629 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22031, about 3 miles west of the intersection of Route 50 (Arlington Blvd) and I-495.  703-385-7669.   The location is in the shopping center across from Home Depot.  Willi's has a great reputation with us, they sponsor part of our November Fashion Show.)

DETAILED DIRECTIONS TO CROWNE PLAZA IN NORTH CRYSTAL CITY

PARKING: Parking below the hotel (enter from Crystal Drive) or take Metro to Crystal City station and walk north from 18th St to 15th St.  

METRO: Upon exiting the Metro, you have 2 choices....  

(1) Proceed from the top of the first set of escalators, walk straight ahead to the second set of escalators, you take up to street level. You now are at S. Bell and 18th Street, at the Metro Bus platform; either turn north (left) and walk the 'long' block along S. Bell to 15th St and cross; OR
Walk 1 block East/towards the airport to Crystal Drive (recommended) and then turn left and walk north 3 blocks along the sidewalk. You cross at 15th St and the Crowne Plaza is the first building.

(2) Good for BAD WEATHER: at the top of the first set of escalators, walk 10 yards forward and turn right into the Crystal Underground, now walk in the maze of tunnels following signs for "12th Street"; after checking several direction signs and walking through the multi-flowered tunnels, you will exit to street level by walking up a 50 yard ramp.  You are at the Jefferson Plaza office buildings and the most direct route to the Crowne is through the doors to your right for about 30 yards, but they lock at 6:00PM.  AFTER 6PM, DUE TO THE SECURITY SYSTEM for the Jefferson Plaza office buildings, you need to find the exits to either Eads Street (to the west) or Crystal Drive (to the east), walk south about a block and 1/2 to the Crowne Plaza.
