Crested Butte is a world class ski resort in a league of its own. Far removed from the more crowded interstate highway resorts of Colorado's I-70, the charming western town and resort are situated in the southwestern part of the state, tucked away in the Elk Mountain Range.

Perfectly positioned to catch Colorado's best winter weather fronts, storms that sweep down from Canada generally hit Crested Butte head-on dumping exceptional amounts of snow. Here you'll find the lift lines short and slopes uncrowded. It doesn't get any better than that! 48% of the mountain is intermediate terrain, offering a wide variety of exhilarating runs including playful blues and long groomers. 50% of the terrain is advanced, with glade skiing, expansive bowls and "gut check" steeps. Don't worry--novices have plentiful beginner terrain to develop their passion too. Crested Butte leads the state in teaching first-time skiers. Off the slopes, you'll find the old mining supply town of Crested Butte to be authentic and unpretentious, but not lacking the frills and extras of a world class ski resort. The town's main street, famed Elk Avenue, offers an abundance of exceptional dining and entertainment opportunites. The friendly locals of this small, unique town know how to welcome and entertain their guests. Be prepared to return home feeling as though you've just had a "real ski vacation".
