Riverbend to Great Falls, VA
Date and Time: Saturday, September 29th from 10 AM – 12 PM (Noon-ish)
Leader: Amelia Lancellotti
Distance and Difficulty: 4 miles, flat (some can choose to add a mile or two, moderate, some hills).
Directions: Take I-495 to Georgetown Pike West (Rt. 193) toward Great Falls. Pass the Great Falls entrance and continue a mile or so until you see the sign for Riverbend Park. Turn right and follow through neighborhoods another couple miles to the small sign on the right toward Riverbend (Jeffery Rd). Turn right and continue a mile or so and part at the Visitor’s Center.
Information: This scenic hike follows the Potomac River to the Great Falls Park. View the breathtaking falls and return for the hike back to Riverbend. Those who desire to depart from the group are welcome to add another mile or two on the Great Falls paths which have some moderate hills.
