DETAILED DIRECTIONS TO RIDE START:
I. From Beltway (I-495): Take I-395 North; Take Exit 6 - Shirlington / Quaker Lane; Bear left over highway, move immediately into right lane, and turn left at the first traffic light onto Arlington Mill Dr.; Cross through traffic light at intersection of S. Randolph St. and Arlington Mill Dr. then make the next left onto Campbell Ave.; Proceed one block and turn right into the parking garage (if your bike is on top of your car, park in open-air lot along Arlington Mill Dr. instead); Park on an upper level (lowest level is reserved); Exit the garage and turn right: meet on the brick plaza in front of Signature Theater / Shirlington Library.
II. From Washington DC: Take I-395 South; Take Exit 7 - Shirlington / Glebe Road and remain in the left lane of the exit - overhead sign is marked "Shirlington"; After passing below overpass, bear to the right to exit into Shirlington; At the end of the exit, go straight through the traffic light crossing Shirlington Rd to proceed onto Arlington Mill Dr.; Cross through traffic light at intersection of S. Randolph St. and Arlington Mill Dr. then make the next left onto Campbell Ave.; Proceed one block and turn right into the parking garage (if your bike is on top of your car, park in open-air lot along Arlington Mill Dr. instead); Park on an upper level (lowest level is reserved); Exit the garage and turn right: meet on the brick plaza in front of Signature Theater / Shirlington Library.
III. From Metro: 1. Via Rail and Bus: From the Ballston-MU Station on the Orange Line, take the Number 10B bus towards Hunting Towers, or the 23A bus towards Crystal City, and get off in Shirlington (meet on the brick plaza in front of Signature Theater / Shirlington Library); 2. Via Rail and Bike: a. From the escalator of the Ballston-MU Station on the Orange Line, go west on the sidewalk of Fairfax Dr. (i.e., cross Taylor St.)., b. Pass the Holiday Inn, and turn left on the bike trail at the sign “Bluemont Park 1.3 miles” (about 0.4 miles from the Metro station), c. Find the continuation of the bike trail diagonally across the intersection of Wilson Blvd. and George Mason Dr. next to the sign for “Bluemont Neighborhood” (about 0.6 miles from the Metro station), d. Turn left on the W&OD trail at the STOP sign on the bike trail [Ignore the sign pointing right to the W&OD Trail] (about 1.5 miles from the Metro station), e. Turn right on sidewalk at Walter Reed Dr. (about 4.5 miles from the Metro station), then turn left in one block onto the bike path at Arlington Mill Dr., f. Turn right onto Campbell Dr. (about 5 miles from the Metro station), g. In one block, stop on the brick plaza in front of Signature Theater / Shirlington Library.
