| Where do you feel you can help students the most? | Help students take advantage of their knowledge of other balance sports in learning how to snowboard, to take advantage of body wisdom they already have. | |
| What do you feel was your best ski teaching experience? | Helping someone older than I (and I'm old) successfully take the first steps in learning how to ride. | |
| Anything else you'd like to add? | I discovered snowboarding in my 50's, after 20 some years of skiing. Yes, you can
teach old dog new tricks. While I enjoy skiing, I enjoy the more spiritual vibe of freeride snowboarding: the center
of G effortlessly balanced between gravitational and centrifugal forces. I haven't spent any time in terrain parks
or half pipe yet, but that will be on the agenda soon, as are telemark lessons. Gotta keep learning and experiencing
the richness of life. Also on the agenda is the ongoing effort to integrate helmet cam and handheld videocam videos into the teaching experience. |
