Get those sea-legs ready, maties! Beginning May 6th we're gearing up for a boat full of Potomac Sails this spring. See our spring and early summer schedule below.

Cast your workaday cares to the wind as you skim across the Potomac Tuesday evenings on extremely stable 19-foot Flying Scots boats. Or, get your weekends off to a "flying" start on alternate Saturday mornings. Learn the difference between a jibe and a jib plus new nautical skills from experienced, laid-back SCWDC skippers. No experience required, but a desire for fun is a must.

The sails last about 2 hours, with the fun continuing afterwards (additional cost) for all hungry hands at nearby Primo’s Restaurant (in the back room) where you can meet the crews from the other boats and swap stories of the day or night’s adventure.

Reservations are strongly encouraged so the trip leader can plan for skippers and order the number of boats based on the number of people who have signed up. To reserve your space for Tuesday night, please call the leader by Sunday. To reserve for Saturday, please call by Wednesday. If you take a chance and call late or just show up, there may be space but those who have reserved are accommodated first. Please be considerate of our trip leaders and do not call them after 9pm

Wondering if the weather will cooperate? The weather can be vastly different in Maryland, DC, and the marina. The marina has technology to see what storms are in their vicinity and when they can be expected. If weather appears stormy or windless, call the marina at (703) 768-0018 to make sure the boats will sail.
